Kurtis and Sarah's wedding at Hauser Hall in St. Jacobs, Ontario, was an enchanting blend of elegance and simplicity, the kind of day where every moment felt genuine, intimate, and deeply personal.

It was my first time capturing a wedding at Hauser Hall, and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to this venue. With its rustic, unique charm and high ceilings, the hall offers a beautiful canvas for couples to create their perfect day. For Kurtis and Sarah, the goal was to let the space speak for itself—and it certainly did.

One of the most memorable moments from the day was the couple's first look. Tucked away in a quiet spot near a river, Kurtis waited with nervous anticipation until Sarah said he could turn around. As soon as their eyes met, tears of joy and anticipation were shed. There's something incredibly special about the first time a couple sees each other on their wedding day, and Kurtis and Sarah's first look was no exception. Tears, laughter, and the kind of unspoken connection that can only be felt in those fleeting moments—everything about it was pure magic.

The ceremony itself was equally beautiful, held under soft natural light streaming through the hall's large windows. The vows were heartfelt and personal, causing laughter and love to be felt by all. As they were pronounced husband and wife, they did something extraordinary: Kurtis and Sarah took a moment to share their favourite drink with their wedding party, a small but meaningful gesture that perfectly captured the spirit of celebration and togetherness that defined their day. And then came the reception, where their love for all things Mario took center stage. As huge fans of the Super Mariofranchise, Kurtis and Sarah were determined to bring a bit of their shared passion into their wedding. After being officially pronounced married, they walked down the aisle to the "Peaches" song from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, bringing smiles and laughter from their guests. But the highlight was undoubtedly the "Bouquet and mushroom toss" during the reception. In place of the traditional garter toss, they used a Mario Kart green mushroom—an unexpected and playful twist that had the entire room cheering.

Whether it was the Mario-themed elements, the shared drink after the ceremony, or simply the way they held each other's gaze throughout the day, every detail reflected Kurtis and Sarah's personalities and the love they share. With its timeless appeal and wide-open spaces, Hauser Hall provided the perfect backdrop for such a heartfelt celebration. This day was about more than just the venue or the décor—it was about two people, deeply in love, celebrating the start of their forever surrounded by those who matter most.  I have known Kurtis and his family my entire life, and I couldn't be more thankful that I was able to capture this incredible day for them. It was a full-circle moment and a day we will all remember forever!
